360° Thursday: Modern jazz, Slovak trio, Polish composer

UW-Green Bay Music will examine modern jazz though an Eastern European lens, presenting the music of Krzysztof Komeda in the next installment of its 360° Thursdays concert series, at 6:30 p.m. March 5 in Fort Howard Hall at the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts. UW-Green Bay Music Profs. Adam Gaines and John Salerno, trumpet and saxophone, respectively, will perform Komeda’s music with the Nothing But Swing Trio (Slovak musicians Klaudius Kováč, piano, Róbert Ragan, doublebass, and Peter Solárik). Throughout the program, Gaines will highlight some of Komeda’s most important contributions through the use of film clips and lecture. More details.
