Stop, Drop and Roll burns the field in Chili Cook-off
In what is described as the most hotly contested Chili Cook-off in years, Stop Drop and Roll Chili from the Dean of Students Office (created by Mike Stearney and Amanda Wildenberg) beat out, via tie breaker, Go Global, Go Green Chili from International Education (Gwen Henslin). Coming in only one vote behind and taking third place was Iowa I-Opener, Farmers Daughter’s Chili by Sarah Meredith Livingston. Great names, and very good chili!
Incidentally, if you didn’t get there early, you were shut out at the polls. With heavy demand, most of the chili was gone within a half hour of the 11:30 a.m. start, the chefs a victim of their own culinary success. Student Life offers a big “Thank you to all of our participants and chili tasters. Trophies and gift cards will soon follow!”
