Star percussion alumnus returns for recital, Feb. 19
Rising percussionist Tim Patterson, Class of 2002, returns to UW-Green Bay for a free recital at 7:30 p.m. this Thursday (Feb. 19) in the University Theatre. Patterson is a music educator and freelance percussionist who holds the Graduate Percussion Teaching Assistantship as a doctoral candidate in the school of music at UW-Madison. After a standout undergraduate career at UW-Green Bay under the tutelage of Prof. Cheryl Grosso, he studied at the California Institute of the Arts with John Bergamo and worked with noted artists and contemporary composers. His program Tuesday will feature Bergamo’s “Five Short Pieces for Marimba,” along with “Rotation,” “Three Movements for Marimba,” “Side by Side” and “To the Earth.”
