Flags at half-staff to honor Fort Hood victims

Out of respect for the shooting victims at the Fort Hood Army Base in Texas, Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle has directed that the U.S. flag be flown at half-staff at buildings and grounds and military installations until sundown Wednesday (Nov. 11, Veterans Day). On the subject of Veterans Day, UW-Green Bay Chancellor Thomas Harden will host the 2009 reception to recognize veterans associated with the University and local community. All veterans – including students, faculty and staff – are invited to participate in the event at 4 p.m. in Phoenix Room B of the University Union. The guest speaker for the Chancellor’s Veterans Reception will be Brigadier General William Gothard of the 353rd Civil Affairs Command.
