2009/10 Common Theme RFP is out

Request for Proposals: The deans of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Professional and Graduate Studies are soliciting proposals for a UW-Green Bay Common Theme that would be implemented during the 2009/10 academic year. The proposal should address the following elements:

  • Theme proposed lends itself to interdisciplinary analysis and conversation.
  • Theme proposed is of high academic caliber and conducive to scholarly dialogue.
  • Theme proposed lends itself to collaborative links across the campus (student affairs, academic affairs, and community engagement).
  • Theme/Text proposed is accessible, yet potentially engaging, for students and community.
  • Proposal suggests possible contributors, speakers, and participants for a Common Theme structured around the suggested theme.
  • Proposal suggests possible media, books, etc. that potentially connect to the proposed theme.

Proposals are due on or before Friday, Nov. 14, and should be submitted to Scott Furlong, dean of Liberal Arts and Sciences, at furlongs@uwgb.edu. Decisions on proposals will be made and communicated no later than Jan. 9, 2009. An e-mail with details regarding the RFP was sent to all faculty and staff on Wednesday, Nov. 5.
