Lunchtime Music Convocations return Friday; we’ve got your lineup

We told you here recently about the return of an old campus tradition: Lunchtime Music Convocations in the University Theatre. The first of these bring-your-lunch, come-as-you-can (and leave-as-you-must) events is coming up Friday (Nov. 7), and now we’ve got additional details. The event will kick off with student McKenna Van Der Leest on alto sax (accompanist TBD), playing Pierre Max Dubois’ “Pièces caractéristiques en forme de suite.” The UW-Green Bay Contemporary Percussion Ensemble will perform next, with selections from composers John Luther Adams, Daniel Levitan, Johannes Brahms and more. The convocation will conclude with the UW-Green Bay Clarinet Ensemble, playing works by composers including Johann Sebastian Bach, Frederic Chopin, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and others. Faculty members Cheryl Grosso and Eric Hansen direct the Contemporary Percussion Ensemble and Clarinet Ensemble, respectively. The recital runs from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. in the University Theatre.
