Cool jazz: UWGB group to play Hinterland gig

The worst of the summer heat wave likely will be behind us (it just has to be) a week from now, but we still can’t think of a better way to beat the heat than with some cool jazz — especially the kind that doesn’t cost any cold, hard cash. Gypsy Trip, a jazz group made up of UWGB faculty and students, will play from 8-10 p.m. Wednesday, July 27 at Hinterland, 313 Dousman St., Green Bay.

Gypsy Trip is: Stefan Hall, Mike Fowler and Nick Winkler, guitars; Adam Gaines, trumpet; Eric Hansen, clarinet; Michael Dewhirst, bass; Ben Hogan, percussion; and Michelle McQuade Dewhirst, vocals and horn. Admission is free, and we’re told the beer and fish tacos are delicious.
