Bring your appetite. Tri-Beta, the national biological studies honor society, is having a BBQ fundraiser this Friday (April 29) from noon to 3 p.m. on the plaza between Environmental Sciences and the Cofrin Library. The cookout with brats, hot dogs, soda, water, baked beans, Coldstone ice cream and chips is a fundraiser for Ribbon of Hope, a nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance to women in Northeast Wisconsin battling breast cancer. The day’s events will culminate with the annual Tri-Beta spring induction ceremony of new members at 3:30 p.m. in MAC 208. The guest speaker is Alma Estrada-Rodriguez, assistant professor of Biology. Meg Fay-Steinhardt, from Ribbon of Hope, will also speak at the induction ceremony.
