The UW-Green Bay music program’s faculty recital this Saturday (April 2) will feature the group “Gypsy Trip” in a free program that starts at 7:30 p.m. in the University Theatre. The music will be a combination of gypsy jazz, early jazz and some original pieces performed by the Gypsy Trip. The group features several UW-Green Bay faculty members including Prof. Adam Gaines, trumpet; Prof. Eric Hansen, clarinet; Prof. Stefan Hall, guitar. Other musicians in the group are: Nick Winkler, guitar; Mike Fowler, guitar; Michael Dewhirst, bass; Ben Hogan, percussion. Special guest vocalists are UW-Green Bay Profs. Michelle McQuade Dewhirst and Courtney Sherman. The concert will include music by jazz legends Django Reinhardt, Dizzy Gillespie and Duke Ellington, and original pieces by Prof. Hall.
