More than 50 women’s basketball alumni returning Saturday …

Speaking of great alumni and spectacular hoops, more than 50 former Phoenix women’s basketball players will be returning this weekend for Alumni Weekend. The former players will be honored at halftime of Saturday’s (March 8) Phoenix vs. Detroit game, which tips-off at 1 p.m. at the Kress Events Center. It is Green Bay’s final home game of the season with seniors and parents also expected to be honored that day. As of today, the Phoenix remains in sole possession of first place in the Horizon League. A home win over Oakland on Thursday (March 6) or Saturday against Detroit would secure the program’s 16th straight Horizon League Championship and ensure that the Phoenix hosts the Horizon League Tournament. Read more.

… but no alumni game
With many of UW-Green Bay’s youngest alumni playing overseas, and others coaching both in the high school and college ranks, there will not be a Women’s Basketball Alumni Game this year. In the past, an alumni game is played a few hours before Phoenix tip-off.
