CATL program: ‘Many Heads are Better than One’
Feb. 13, noon to 1:30 p.m., 1965 Room of the University Union
“Many Heads are Better than One: Faculty Development, Student Learning and Lesson Study,” a CATL (Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning) program led by Prof. Regan Gurung:
“It would be easier to help students learn better and to modify our teaching accordingly, if we knew the explicit processes students use while learning. What are students doing with your instruction? What can be done to better deliver content and design classroom pedagogy that enhances student learning? A large part of the answers to these questions lie in systematic reflections on teaching and learning conducted by faculty working together. This session will describe methodologies to catalyze such reflections and help unravel the mysteries of student learning problems.”
