Arts Enrichment for Adults program offered at UW-Green Bay

Arts Enrichments for Adults, a non-credit program offered at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, is designed to help adults capture their creative side. An impressive array of class offerings will take place 1-4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Aug. 1-4, on the UW-Green Bay campus, 2420 Nicolet Drive.

Students can choose one class from the following courses (and instructors):

From Junk to Jewelry – Erica Becker
Fabulous Felting – Mindy Sue Wittock
Basic Fine Art of Mosaic Workshop – Margy Cottingham
Ceramics: Hand-Building with an Introduction to Wheel-Throwing for Raku Firing – Dean Hoegger
Anyone Can Draw – Sara Tlachac
The Wonderful World of Mixed Media – Frank Juarez
Watercolor Painting – Deb Parins Zich
Introduction to Fine Art Digital Photography – Tammy Resulta
Digital Photo Editing: Storing and Manipulating Imagery – Jennifer Lautenschlager

The class fee of $129 covers instruction. Some classes requiring special materials also have a lab fee. Students choose one course that they will focus on during the 4-day week.

Sandra Shackelford is the Arts Enrichment Coordinator for the program. Shackelford is a documentary artist who received a bachelor’s degree from UW-Green Bay and did graduate work in fine arts at UW-Milwaukee. Shackelford works with K-12 students at Aldo Leopold School and creates art programs for youth through the Howe Neighborhood Family Resource Center. She is the co-director for UW-Green Bay’s longstanding Summer Art Studio Camps. In addition, she is the founding director of the mosaic art project, “The Memorial Wall of Hope and Healing.”
