Faculty note: Wenger in China

Prof. Emeritus Robert Wenger recently returned from two weeks in Beijing (October 22 to November 3), his eighth trip to China in the past quarter century. The purpose of this trip was to lead a seminar/study tour that he organized with the help of Chinese colleagues at the School of the Environment at Beijing Normal University. The theme was “Environmental and Water Resources Management.” About 15 international visitors along with numerous Chinese faculty members and graduate students participated in the activities which included two days of seminar presentations and three days of organized field trips. The Beijing seminar/study tour was the latest event in the ongoing 25 program organized in the mid-1980s by a group of civil engineers, including Prof. Emeritus Jack Day, who were members of the Environmental and Water Resources Institute (EWRI), an institute affiliated with the American Society of Civil Engineers. Along with the support of EWRI, the Beijing Seminar/Study Tour was co-sponsored by the School of Environment at Beijing Normal University and UW-Green Bay.
