UW-Green Bay a sponsor of annual MLK event, happening Saturday
UW-Green Bay is a major sponsor and organizer of the 20th annual Brown County Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebration, taking place from 10:30 a.m.-noon Saturday (Jan. 17) in the Student Center at NWTC. Our MLK Committee members tell us this year’s event will feature all-new entertainment, including Mexican folk dance, Native American dance, Irish dance and a performance by the Divine Temple Gospel Choir. Kiddos in grades K-12 will receive awards in this year’s poster and essay contest, centered on the event’s theme of “Working for Justice Everywhere.” Our own Sue Mattison, Dean of the College of Professional Studies, will offer brief remarks and present the awards for grades K-3, and several other faculty and staff members will play central roles in presenting the celebration. The event concludes with a free community lunch, so come on out. Read more details.
