Special screening of ‘Afghan Women Behind the Wheel’
Next Monday (April 25) visitors are invited to a special screening of the award-winning documentary Afghan Women Behind the Wheel. The film provides a rare female perspective on the social conditions in Afghanistan and is directed by pioneering female Afghani filmmaker Sahraa Karimi, who has visited UW-Green Bay previously. The showing will take place in the Christie Theatre on the lower level of the University Union from 4 to 5 p.m., with a follow-up discussion open to all. Profs. Heidi Sherman and Katia Levintova say this is the semester’s final meeting of the Middle Eastern Politics and Culture discussion group and should be an informative and instructive open session.
