Faces of philanthropy: Named Scholarship Reception II
The second of four donor-student scholarship receptions this fall took place at the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts on Oct. 3. More than 200 community donors, UW-Green Bay student recipients of their named scholarships, family, friends and others took part in the event celebrating philanthropy benefiting UW-Green Bay students.
UW-Green Bay Chancellor Gary L. Miller addressed the students in the audience, saying, “I know you will express your gratitude personally to the generous donors of your scholarship. But the best way to thank them is to succeed and, when you are able, give back in the same way.” Also speaking during the brief program on the stage of the Weidner were emcee Jeanne Stangel, assistant chancellor for university advancement; donor and civic leader Gail McNutt; and the recipient of the scholarship McNutt endowed, Bryan Konicek, a communication student from Rhinelander.
