Snapshots: Phuture Phoenix, first scholarships
The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay has proudly presented the “Phirst” Phuture Phoenix Scholarships to seven students who were part of that very first group to visit the campus in 2003.
In a ceremony held May 27 in the Phoenix Room of the University Union, UW-Green Bay Chancellor Thomas Harden called the presentation of these scholarships an especially important event for the University. Program founders Cyndie Shepard and Ginny Riopelle, former chancellor Bruce Shepard, and scholarship benefactors Billie Kress and Larry Weyers joined with Green Bay school board members and district administration for the gathering. They also took time to meet with and pose or commemorative snapshots with recipients of the first Phuture Phoenix scholarships to be awarded. For details on the program, see the text at this link.
