Giving back: Aid for tomorrow’s leaders from Management Women
The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay recently received a $10,000 gift for an endowed scholarship from Management Women, Inc.
The check was presented at the February meeting of the Green Bay-based organization. Posing here are, from left, representing Management Women, Inc., Gina Evans, Kristin Van Drisse and Susan Baranczyk; from UW-Green Bay, Lisa DeLeeuw and Jeanne Stangel; and, also from Management Women, Dawn Gracyalny, and Debra Van Pay.
Management Women, Inc. seeks to promote an environment of support for the continuing professional and personal development of current and future professional women. The group’s membership includes a variety of women in a variety of leadership positions throughout the community.
The group has a history of supporting educational attainment for the next generation. Prior to establishing the endowed (permanent) scholarship fund, Management Women, Inc. made annual awards directly to women seeking post-secondary education.
The UW-Green Bay scholarship will be awarded by a selection committee to be determined by the University’s Office of Financial Aid. Recipients must be female residents of Brown County who are enrolled undergraduate or graduate students at UW-Green Bay with one or more semesters completed at UW-Green Bay. They must also have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5. Preference will be given to applicants with extracurricular involvement and a demonstrated financial need.
Members of Management Women and others can grow the endowment by making personal gifts at www.uwgb.edu/giving, or by contacting Lisa DeLeeuw, UW-Green Bay director of grants and development services, at (920) 465-2226.
