UW-Green Bay faculty recital for voice and piano

The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay music program will present a faculty recital, Sunday, Sept. 12, featuring pianist David Severtson and soprano vocalist Courtney Sherman. The free recital will be at 2 p.m. in Fort Howard Hall of the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts and is open to the public.

Students are back on campus! UW-Green Bay welcomed 668 members of the freshman class who will be living on campus this year. Faculty and staff were on hand Aug. 30 not only to greet the students and their parents but also to help carry some of the load. Major grants awarded to UW-Green Bay’s Center for Public Affairs

The Center for Public Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay has received three grants totaling more than $212,000 to conduct three quality of life studies in the Fox River region. The Leading Indicators for Excellence (LIFE) Study is being conducted in Brown County, Southern Winnebago County and the Fox Cities in conjunction with the St. Norbert College Survey Center.

Pamperin Hall: Honored alumnus is advocate for access, affordability

UW-Green Bay will dedicate its newest residence hall on Sept. 8, 2010 to Keith A. Pamperin. Pamperin, a 1970 graduate in Urban Analysis, has been instrumental in helping to secure housing for more than 2,100 students at UW-Green Bay. The new three-story building has 32 suites and will house 126 students.

New book by Furlong released

Scott Furlong, dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and professor of political science at UW-Green Bay, has co-authored a new textbook. This is the 4th edition of the book, Rulemaking: How Government Agencies Write Law and Make Policy published by CQ Press.
