UW-Green Bay hosts concert by The French Trio
Award-winning artists The French Trio will perform at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, at the Christie Theater in the University Union at UW-Green Bay, 2420 Nicolet Drive.
“This French trio performs a passionate mélange of vintage French chansons with a twist of je ne sais quoi,” says E. Nicole Meyer, a professor of French, Humanistic Studies and Women’s and Gender Studies.
What is a French chanson, you ask? Chansons are lyrically driven songs, frequently romantic, that follow the distinct rhythm of the French language.
The members of The French Trio are Robin Pluer, vocals; Connie Grauer, keyboards/vocals; and Kim Zick, drums. Grauer and Zick are members of the band MRS. FUN and join musical forces with Pluer when performing French repertoire. All three members are multiple WAMI (Wisconsin Area Music Industry) award winners.
The UW-Green Bay French Club is presenting the concert. Tickets are $2 for students and $5 for non-students. For more information, contact club representative Tiffany Wilhelm at wilhtm31@uwgb.edu.
