Campus garden raises awareness
The 1,200-square-foot garden outside the University Union is a new teaching tool added to campus, its creator told the Green Bay Press-Gazette. “I wanted to use it as kind of a focal point … to raise awareness and educate students (about) the importance of local and sustainable food,” grad student Molly Collard said, “why that’s good for environmental reasons, along with community reasons and economic reasons, as well as supporting your local economy, keeping those food dollars local.” She added, “Those are all values that tie back to the environmental roots of our campus.” For more, read the article.
