Phuture Phoenix West in news
The Compass 2 Campus program, or Phuture Phoenix West as we like to call it around here, has received more than double the expected student registration as more than 400 Western Washington University students prepare themselves to help mentor fifth-graders. Started by Phuture Phoenix co-founder Cyndie Shepard (wife of former UW-Green Bay Chancellor Bruce Shepard), Compass 2 Campus is a near twin to UW-Green Bay’s student mentoring program. Western students will learn tutoring and mentoring techniques to help children in 10 elementary schools in two Washington counties. College students will tutor the kids all the way through high school, encouraging them to pursue higher education. Read more.
