Next week is busy for Pride Center with training, panels on LGBTQ+, Islam
• SAFE Ally Level 1 training is scheduled for next Tuesday (Nov. 17) from 2 to 4 p.m., in CR 112 (first floor of University Union). SAFE Ally training offers information and updates about LGBTQ+ topics and what is available through the UW-Green Bay Pride Center. To attend and receive your SAFE Ally completion sticker, please contact Stacie Christian.
• Another Pride Center guest panel is taking place Tuesday (Nov. 17) from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Christie Theatre in the University Union. This panel focuses on the stories of community members who have led the way in social justice for LGBTQ+. These panels offer great conversation and stories, and are a great opportunity to learn and meet new people. Open to students, employees, alumni and public. Refreshments are provided.
• Everyone is welcome to attend an Islamic Guest Panel, the next Inclusivity and Equity Certificate event, next Thursday (Nov. 19), 1 to 2 p.m. in the Christie Theatre in the University Union. Alumni and community members will talk about Islamic religion, culture and ethics and what it is like to be a Muslim living in the United States today. This event is free, and open to employees and students who are interested in learning more on how to be inclusive at UWGB and in our community.
