In the news: Helpap talks big donor

Associate Prof. David Helpap on Tuesday (Dec. 9) offered his take on Gov. Scott Walker’s meeting with a big Republican donor for a story on Fox 11. Walker was scheduled to meet with billionaire casino operator Sheldon Adelson — a logical step, Helpap said, as the governor explores a run for president. “If you want to be a player on the Republican side of things,” Helpap told reporter Andrew LaCombe, “you need to talk to this person.” He also pointed out that Walker isn’t the only potential candidate following this type of path. “This is not unique to Governor Walker,” Helpap said. “These are individuals that are kind of testing the waters, seeing what possibilities are out there, what types of resources are out there.” Full story.
