BBC quotes Kaye on Paine, too

Prof. Harvey Kaye’s description of Thomas Paine — “Possibly the most influential writer in modern human history” — led a BBC News Magazine story about the so-called “father of the American revolution.” Monday (June 8) marked 200 years since the death of Paine, the author of Common Sense, a pamphlet published in 1776 that made the case for democracy. Kaye is a biographer of Paine. “His words changed the world. His voice was essentially a voice of democratic progress,” Kaye was quoted in the BBC article.
