Gurung and students publish journal article on ‘dress for success’

Wonder if what one wears to a presentation makes a difference? Hot off the press, research conducted by Prof. Regan A. R. Gurung of Psychology and Human Development, with a student research team, has been published in the latest edition of the journal Teaching Psychology. Titled “Dressed to Present: Ratings of Classroom Presentations Vary With Attire,” the paper was co-authored with students Laura Kempen, Kayla Klemm, Rebecca Senn and Rosie Wysocki. (Klemm has since continued her studies at UW-Stout, while Senn is in grad school in North Carolina.) Among their findings: While formal business attire boosts ratings, “business casual” can also provide an edge. Read more.
