Students, vets from ‘War & Peace’ seminar present posters
This Wednesday (May 6) is the grand finale for Human Development’s semester-long “War and Peace” seminar, the one based on the University Common Theme. In Room 103 of the University Union (note that new location), seminar students will publicly present poster projects on a ‘day in the life’ of children from different war-torn locations. The poster display, with snacks and refreshments, will run from 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. At 6:30 there will be a slideshow presentation, “Days in the Life of a Veteran.” Craig Destree, who was headquartered at Camp Navistar on the border of Kuwait and Iraq, was a truck commander and his battalion ran convoys into and out of Iraq. Angel Storm, who was mainly stationed in Baghdad in Green Zone, worked with the State Department and did humanitarian outreach. Wednesday’s event is open to all campus and community members.
