In the news: Zywicki of the Ichabods

The student newspaper at Washburn University in Topeka has a feature posted about the new student union director, Steve Zywicki, recently departed from UW-Green Bay. It caught our eye because a lot of people know Steve and, additionally, the article referred to him throughout as ‘Zywiki.” (Kansas students must know their wikis, but not proper Polish spelling.) Also catching our eye during our brief virtual visit was a reference to the “Ichabods.” We learned that Washburn’s mascot, the Ichabod, wears top hat and tails and honors the school’s benefactor, 19th century industrialist Ichabod Washburn. (And Zywicki probably thought the Pointer and Phoenix mascots at his previous schools were distinctive.) In any event, here’s the link.
