In the news: Czech and Slovak competition headlines Press-Gazette column
The Press-Gazette on Saturday (Aug. 24) headlined its Arts Notes column with a mention of the 12th Czech and Slovak Voice International Music Competition of Montréal, preliminary and semifinal rounds for which will be held at UW-Green Bay Saturday, Sept. 28 and Sunday, Sept. 29. As we told you here before, this is the sixth time UW-Green Bay will host early rounds of the prestigious biennial competition, thanks to the efforts of Music Prof. Sarah Meredith Livingston and community patron Sharon Resch. The competition usually is held in November, and organizers are lauding the earlier date, which will be beneficial for community members who travel or live elsewhere during the winter months. The UW-Green Bay competition will take place from 10 a.m.-noon and 2:30-5:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28 and Sunday, Sept. 29 in Fort Howard Hall of the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts. A special 360° Thursdays concert will be held Sept. 26 to kick off the competition weekend. Click the links for more info:
