Former Phoenix Wojta gets second chance with WNBA’s Silver Stars

The WNBA’s San Antonio Silver Stars on Tuesday (June 4) signed former Phoenix standout Julie Wojta as a hardship exemption, giving the Francis Creek native a second chance after she was invited to the Stars’ training camp but waived before the season, the Green Bay Press-Gazette reported Thursday. Wojta graduated from UW-Green Bay in 2012, and was drafted but later released by the WNBA’s Minnesota Lynx. She signed with a pro team in Belgium last year before returning to the Lynx on a short-term contract. Full story.
