Parking now uses license plate recognition technology

Already shared campuswide but repeated here for the record: Public Safety has started using Automated License Plate Recognition technology to enhance safety and assist with parking enforcement. This system scans license plates for comparison against local, state and federal databases that can identify problem vehicles on campus (i.e., stolen vehicles, those belonging to people who are banned from campus, etc.). The current parking decal system will continue as-is for 2013-14, and accurate reporting of your license plate information when purchasing your parking permit will help you avoid unwarranted parking citations.
