UW-Green Bay Music to present Opera and Musical Theatre Workshop concerts
UW-Green Bay Music students will showcase their talents during a pair of Opera and Musical Theatre Workshop concerts at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 19 and Saturday, April 20 in the Jean Weidner Theatre at the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts.
Directed by Assistant Prof. Courtney Sherman and accompanied by pianist Emily Sculliuffo, the students will perform selections from “Assassins,” composed by Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman, and “The Marriage of Figaro,” composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Lorenzo da Ponte.
The concert will begin with Scene 10 from “Assassins,” titled, “Unworthy of your Love,” featuring students Samantha Quatsoe and Nicholas Schommer. The rest of the program will be devoted to selections from acts I-III of “The Marriage of Figaro,” featuring Schommer, as well as students Farin Ludtke, Angela Danowski, Lindsay Cummings, Erin Zimmerman, Kevin St. John, Joerge Schmelzer, Nicole Duhaime, Rose Abegglen, Tori Schuurmans, Leah LaMalfa, Alex Stensaas and Amanda O’Donnell.
