AIC’s Robinson to present data on testing, black males at national conference

Shawn Robinson of the American Intercultural Center has been invited to present his research on the educational experience of black males at the annual meeting of the American Educational Research Association in San Francisco on April 28. Robinson will participate in the Breaking Barriers 3: Equity and Fairness in Testing Black and Latino Students session at the AERA conference. His paper was selected through a competitive review process.  The event is organized by the Black Male Achievement Research Collaborative at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation and The Journal of Negro Education, and sponsored by the Open Society Foundation Campaign for Black Male Achievement. Robinson is currently working on his doctorate in language and literacy at Cardinal Stritch University where he is studying issues related to the educational achievement of black males. He is co-director of the P.H.O.E.N.I.X. Black Male Initiative at UW-Green Bay, a program designed to facilitate the educational success of underrepresented and first-generation students in higher education, especially black men.
