New in pictures: National History Day showcases ‘turning points’ projects
It was another successful National History Day at UW-Green Bay Saturday (April 6), with some 400 area middle and high schoolers sharing projects, posters and presentations around the theme “Turning Points in History: People, Ideas and Events.” The daylong event is the 11th straight UW-Green Bay has hosted, with students presenting their original projects at the Kress Events Center and Mary Ann Cofrin Hall. Among those qualifying for the state competition was Bethany Kersten, who has an interesting history herself with the event, in that she is the daughter of Associate Provost Andy Kersten, who helped start the competition here in 2003. Our student photo interns captured some terrific pictures from the day; see gallery.
