Thinking spring: Green Innovations event to focus on food, energy sustainability
In what we hope is a sure sign of spring (it just has to be), our friends in the Environmental Management and Business Institute are announcing a terrific lineup for this year’s Green Innovations Symposium, taking place Monday, April 22-Wednesday, April 24 here on campus. Highlights of this year’s conference, the theme for which is “Urban Agriculture and Community Sustainability,” include a keynote address from noted sustainability speaker David Orr, along with a screening of filmmaker Jeremy Seifert’s latest, “GMO OMG.” The University also will host the 10th annual Lower Fox River Watershed Monitoring Program Student Watershed Symposium, and honor Ryan Stockwell ’01, winner of this year’s Alumni Earth Caretaker Award. Our press release has more details.
