In the news: MLK event, co-sponsored by UW-Green Bay, gets Fox-11 airtime
We told you the other day about the community celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King’s birth, taking place from 10:30 a.m.-noon Saturday (Jan. 19) at NWTC. UW-Green Bay is a major sponsor for the event, and numerous faculty and staff members have been working to prepare for the 18th annual program. Starting early Wednesday (Jan. 16), Fox 11’s “Good Day Wisconsin” show aired three live segments previewing the celebration, with dancers, poster and essay contest entries and reflections on Dr. King’s legacy. Our own Juliet Cole, associate director of UW-Green Bay’s Institute for Learning Partnership, was interviewed during the first segment, before the Nia drummers — part of the UW-Green Bay and community group Nia dancers — took the stage for a preview performance. Check out all three live segments below, and look for a fourth taped segment Saturday morning on “Good Day Wisconsin.” We’ve also linked to our press release, in case you missed it the other day. Hope to see you there!
