Stories highlight Chancellor’s Veteran Reception, services for students
Two local newscasts on Friday (Nov. 9) highlighted UW-Green Bay’s efforts to honor and assist veterans, covering the Chancellor’s Veteran Reception and talking to officials and students about the issues veterans face. WLUK, Fox 11 spoke with veteran services adviser Elaina Koltz, along with veteran Jeremy Wildenberg, who delivered the keynote address at Friday’s event. “It’s an entirely different world than the military,” Wildenberg told reporter Kelly Schlicht. “You do face a lot of different challenges. You’ve got work, you’ve got school, you’re trying to fit into a different community.” UW-Green Bay has 355 individuals receiving veteran benefits, including 252 veterans and service members, as well as dependents.
