Gay marriage advocate Wahls to speak Thursday on campus

A young gay marriage advocate who quickly rose to prominence after his stirring testimony before the Iowa State Legislature will address an audience at UW-Green Bay Thursday (Sept. 20), part of Good Times Programming’s fall lineup. The son of two lesbians, then 19-year-old Zach Wahls testified earlier this year during a public hearing on a proposed constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage in Iowa. His impassioned speech quickly went viral. Wahls will present “What Makes A Family?” at 8 p.m. Thursday in the Phoenix Room of the Union. The event is free and open to the public. More details.
