Show and tell: April 8 event spotlights research, talent of top students
The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay’s best students — researchers, artists and musicians — will be celebrated Wednesday, April 8, at the eighth annual Academic Excellence Symposium.
Student exhibitors will share their work from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Phoenix Room of the University Union. (The always-well-attended event took place in a different location last year, the MAC Hall winter garden, above.)
Participants are nominated by staff and faculty members. The 2009 symposium will feature 82 exhibitors with 48 projects in diverse areas ranging from the invasiveness of garlic mustard, a survey of attitudes on alternative medicine, the music of Teleman, the food crisis in sub-Saharan Africa, to photography and the fine arts (including some of the sample images on this page).
Students will display posters and perform musical selections. The event provides campus and community an opportunity to learn more about the sophisticated research and interesting work being done by UW-Green Bay students.
