New Theatre season highlights Common Theme in debut show

UW-Green Bay Theatre will pay tribute to the campus Common Theme of Creativity, Innovation and Vision this year, opening its 2012-13 season with the “fantastical road trip” bobrauschenbergamerica. The play celebrates the work of visionary artist Robert Rauschenberg, using his style “of combining found materials to create a new work of art, allowing the audience to consider objects, ideas and relationships in a new light,” according to Prof. Laura Riddle, managing director for University Theatre productions. The show, which opens Oct. 18, kicks off an exciting, varied season that adds DanceWorks, a dance concert of faculty and student choreography, to Theatre’s mainstage lineup. There’s also an early Shakespeare comedy, a show about the “radium girls,” and an intriguing production about items “gone missing.” Full details.
