For Kraft, Furlong, a fourth edition of Public Policy textbook
Newly published by CQ Press is the fourth edition of Public Policy: Politics, Analysis, and Alternatives by UW-Green Bay faculty members Michael Kraft and Scott Furlong, both of Public and Environmental Affairs. Kraft recently retired, while Furlong has been dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences since 2007. The authors encourage students not only to question the assumptions of policy analysts, but to recognize how analysis is used in support of political arguments. The fourth edition is updated to reflect recent policy debates including the conduct of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, the use of private contractors by the military, disputes over energy policy and climate change, immigration policy, the Affordable Care Act, requirements for financial regulation, heightened concerns over economic and social inequality, and the clash over reforming taxes and entitlement programs.
