Reminder, profile story: Distinguished Alumni a highlight of Saturday event
Just a reminder that Saturday (April 28) is a big night for UW-Green Bay friends past and present. Alumni, friends, family and faculty and staff (current and former) are invited to attend the Alumni Awards Night dinner and program at the Weidner Center. They’ll be honoring two (very) distinguished alumni, revered Tribal Elder Maria Hinton, who at 101 years of age remains an active force in preserving Oneida stories, language and culture; and Dr. Mokenge Malafa, a nationally prominent researcher in the fight against cancer. See our full news release, linked to below along with an excellent and inspiring American Indian News Service story profiling Hinton.
Saturday’s event kicks off with a 5 p.m. social, followed by a 6 p.m. dinner. Cost is $30 per person, and you can register or get more info by contacting the UW-Green Bay Advancement Office at (920) 465-2074 or emailing alumni@uwgb.edu.
