Details on 16th annual Faculty Development Conference
Jan. 20, 2012, is the date selected for the annual Faculty Development Conference at UW -Green Bay. The theme this year is “The Balancing Act: Dedicated Teaching, Productive Scholarship and Active Service.”
The keynote speaker, Kerry Ann Rockquemore, Ph.D, is executive director of the National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity. Her scholarship has involved interracial families, biracial identity and the politics of racial categorization, and, more recently, ways to improve conditions for pre-tenured faculty by creating supportive communities for writing productivity and work/life balance. Rockquemore provides workshops for new faculty at colleges across the U.S., writes a weekly advice column for Inside Higher Ed and works with a select group of new faculty each semester in the Faculty Success Program.
