Staff note: Robinson

The compelling personal story of UW-Green Bay multicultural adviser Shawn Robinson is told in the online magazine of his baccalaureate alma mater, UW Oshkosh. Robinson is among the Oshkosh alumni who point to that institution’s Project Success program as helping them overcome early academic problems. Diagnosed after high school as dyslexic, Robinson found solutions and support when he enrolled at Oshkosh. “It was a long six years to get my undergraduate degree, but during those years I was exposed to a different learning strategy and methodology than I was ever taught before — mastering the entire sound structure of the American English language,” Robinson said. After graduating from UW Oshkosh, Robinson attended DePaul University and received a master’s degree in counseling. Interesting read.
