UW System points to positive move on deductions

UW System officials say they appreciate inclusion of a statutory change in the budget bill that will treat state and UW employees’ newly required retirement contributions on a pre-tax basis. That will temper the immediate net impact by several hundred dollars for most employees. Earlier this week,Walker’s top aide, Administration Secretary Mike Huebsch, announced the higher payments for benefits would show up on the paychecks of state employees in late August at the earliest. He said the state would not seek retroactive payments.
