New ‘After Thoughts’ series for women begins March 1

A new series of programs for women begins at UW-Green Bay next week. The series is called After Thoughts and the debut gathering is 5 to 7 p.m. next Tuesday (March 1) in the foyer of the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts. Cost is $11 for hors d’oeuvres and the program. Ecology Prof. Amy Wolf is the first featured speaker. After Thoughts is designed to connect community women with campus, showcase UW-Green Bay’s faculty and staff, convene women after their workday for learning, enrichment and fun, and provide “After Thoughts” for women to take with them when they leave.

Up for discussion: Wolf on bees, followed by Arendt’s ‘In the Face of Disaster’

Two “pilot” gatherings will be hosted this spring, and if successful, will continue with four After Thoughts programs in the 2011-12 academic year. “The Beauty of Bees and Their Impact on Our Lives” is the title of Prof. Amy Wolf’s presentation March 1.  The second program, from 5 to 7 p.m., April 5, will be led by Prof. Lucy Arendt, Business Administration, addressing “In the Face of Disaster, How Resilient is Our Community?”
