UW-Green Bay provost search committee appointed
GREEN BAY – An 11-member search and screen committee has been appointed to help identify the next provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.
Interim Chancellor David Ward appointed six faculty members, two academic staff members, one classified staff member, and two student representatives to the committee. The committee, which will select a member to serve as chair, will convene for the first time at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9. Ward will officially charge the committee and review its role and procedures.
Following an intensive search and screening process, the committee is expected to recommend three to five candidates as finalists for consideration by new Chancellor Thomas Harden. Harden officially begins his duties at UW-Green Bay on June 1.
Former Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Sue Hammersmith left UW-Green Bay in June 2008 to become president of Metropolitan State University in Minnesota’s Twin Cities. Prof. William Laatsch is serving as interim provost.
