A photo from the pothole
Pothole, sinkhole… whatever you want to call it… the pavement problem that caused a portion of the Main Entrance Boulevard to be closed Thursday afternoon (Aug. 12) is currently being resolved. As Paul Pinkston, interim director of Facilities Planning and Management, shared in an email to employees and students on Friday, the north side of the boulevard (exiting campus) has reopened. The depression is now filled with gravel, but one of the two Nicolet-bound lanes will remain blocked off until repairs are completed by a contractor early the week of Aug. 16. Pinkston says the exact cause of the hole is not known but it does not appear to be the result of a broken storm or sanitary sewer line. No other problems were reported elsewhere on the more than eight miles (most in the UW System, incidentally) of state- and campus-controlled roads maintained by UW-Green Bay.
