The fifth chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay will begin his tenure June 1 after the UW System approved his hire Friday.
Thomas Harden, 59, was confirmed as UWGB’s next chancellor during a special meeting of the UW System Board of Regents. Harden, the president of Clayton State University in Morrow, Ga., will make $216,000 a year at UWGB.
The incoming chancellor said Friday he’s excited about the new role but aware of the challenges that lie ahead.
“Everybody’s facing challenges associated with the economy right now,” Harden said in a telephone interview. “I know UW-Green Bay is as well … (but) it’s a challenge that I feel comfortable in addressing.”
