Art students honored for 2010 Outstanding Senior Exhibitions
Recipients of UW-Green Bay awards for spring 2010 “Outstanding Senior Exhibitions” are Amii John, Adam Koenig and Scott Vanidestine. John fabricated mixed media works that combined traditional craft techniques and consumer culture items to bring to light issues of imbedded racism. Koenig exhibited a series of photographs of men that presented an alternative, more complex version of masculinity. Vanidestine created a series of large scale encaustic (wax) paintings suggesting living organisms and body forms.
This award is a significant honor that demonstrates the faculty’s respect for the students’ efforts, as the art faculty select the honorees from the annual Senior Art Exhibitions.
This year there were two Senior Exhibits with a total of 18 students participating. The second exhibition continues through May 13; for a slideshow look, click here.
